The Growth Phases : 18 Months
- Language : Don’t be discouraged if he seems to be going backwards and forgetting words he already knows. He’s likely to be focusing on learning another skill, like walking.
- Motor Skills : By now, most kids can walk and bend to pick objects. On the fine motor skills side, he may be grasping a crayon and trying to scribble, so provide lots of paper.
- Mental : He will love playing pointing games like “where’s your nose?” and can now recognize himself and others in a mirror.
- Social : He prefers playing alongside others rather than with them. Kids at this stage have no concept of manners of sharing. So pushing, snatching and hitting are quite normal for a toddler trying to get a toy.
