The Growth Phases : Introduction
Watching your child grow from a helpless baby into a young person is a constant delight, but note that the ages and stages presented here are intended only as a guide. Kids develop at their own pace, so don’t worry if your child isn’t doing all these things on schedule. Some kids are late bloomers, others are so busy developing a particular skill, say, learning to pick up small objects, that they focus on that rather than on, say, gross motor skills such as walking. Look at you now, you can walk, you can read, you can write. Does it matter when you started? Each child is unique and a mild delay in mastering a certain skill is normal.
Still concerned despite these assurances? See a doctor to put your mind at ease.
